Q - Where does Great New England Wings and Wheels take place?
A - This event is taking place at Westover Metropolitan Airport, 255 Padgette Blvd, Chicopee. Parking maps will be posted as we get closer to the event.

Q - What does it cost to attend Wings & Wheels?
A - The entry fee is $10; children 12 and under are free.  Payment can be made with a credit card but Cash is Faster.  We will have ATMs.

Q - Should I bring sun protection?
A - Keep in mind this is an outdoor event. We recommend you bring a good sunscreen.

Q -  Will water be available?
A - Yes recommend you drink plenty of water and keep hydrated.

Q - Where should I park?
A - Parking is available in areas on the event grounds and outside the Airport.  Maps noting parking locations will be available on our website.   Signage along roads leading in to the Airport will also direct you to parking lots. There will be shuttle buses that can drop you off at the entrance or you may choose to walk down to the main gate. The buses are handicap equipped with a lift gate

Q - Is handicap parking available?
A - There is a designated handicap lot next to the airport and a handicap bus will drop you off at the entrance.

Q -  Is parking regulated?
A - Chicopee police and parking attendants will direct you to appropriate parking areas. Improperly parked vehicles may be towed at owners’ expense.  Please respect the property of nearby businesses.

Q - Can bicycles be brought into Wings & Wheels?
A - Please no Bicycles, Skateboards, Rollerblades, etc.

Q - Is overnight camping permitted?
A - Camping overnight is not permitted

Q - What is closing time?
A - Wings & Wheels closes at 5:00 PM  Please begin to make your way to the exits at this time so the staff has time to set up for the following day's show.

Q - What items are prohibited from the show?
o Absolutely NO smoking
o NO pets
o NO coolers
o No glass bottles or containers
o NO firearms

o NO alcoholic beverages


Q - Are lawn chairs permitted?
A - Feel free to bring your own lawn chairs. But please be considerate and share the crowd area with others, do not take up too much space.

Q - What extra security measures are in place?
A - Due to our proximity to Westover Air Reserve Base, and our location being an active airport, all persons and parcels are subject to search.

Q - What else should I watch out for?
A - Please do not touch or climb on any of the aircraft, display vehicles or historic displays. Display extreme caution around all aircraft. Parts of the aircraft can be easily damaged if bumped into.

Q - What else is prohibited?
o No Tailgating
o No Cooking
o No Propane

 

Will the show vehicles be judged by classes?

Yes.  We have designated 21 classes of vehicles for judging purposes.  These classes are listed for registrants as they are entering information about their vehicles.

 

How will judging occur?

Judging will be by “peer review”.  That is, the driver of every registered vehicle will receive a judging form as part of the registration package which will be handed out at the gate.  Completed forms will be collected over the two-day show.  First and second place awards will be announced and presented on Sunday afternoon.

 

When can I have my car pictured with a plane?

We are offering the services of a professional photographer who will take a picture of your vehicle with either a P-51 Mustang or a B-25 Bomber.  Your choice.  The photographer will be available from 9am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

 

Do I have to have a Mustang car to have my car photographed with the P-51?

No.  Any vehicle can be photographed with either, or both, available planes.

 

Is there a limit on the number of vehicles that will be photographed each day?

The only limit we will have is on the time available for pictures to be taken.  Photos will be taken from 9am to 5pm only.
